The Marketing and Communications Committee Member provides support to the Committee Chair in promoting and maintaining communications among Chapter members through print and electronic mediums to ensure effective and timely communication among the Chapter members.

Role Overview
The Communications Director is responsible for setting the direction, voice, and standards for all NCHE communications. This role ensures that how the chapter shows up — across digital platforms, events, and member touchpoints — is clear, consistent, and reflective of NCHE’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set communications strategy and priorities in alignment with NCHE leadership and board objectives
  • Serve as the owner and steward of NCHE’s brand, voice, and visual identity
  • Provide final review and approval of messaging and visuals across platforms
  • Oversee website management, social media presence, and event communications
  • Guide newsletter content and email broadcasting cadence
  • Lead and support the Communications Committee, including role definition, onboarding, and coordination
  • Collaborate with other committee chairs and board members to align communications with chapter initiatives
  • Monitor engagement and feedback to inform future communications planning

Deputy Director of Communications

Focus: Execution coordination, partnerships, and continuity

Role Overview
The Deputy Director of Communications supports the Communications Director by coordinating execution across communications activities and serving as a key point of contact for partnership communications. This role helps ensure NCHE’s messaging remains consistent while strengthening relationships with peer organizations and aligned partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day communications activities across committee roles
  • Provide first-pass review of content to ensure alignment with NCHE’s voice and brand standards
  • Support planning and execution of newsletters and email broadcasts
  • Serve as a liaison to partner organizations to:
    • Coordinate event promotion and cross-communication
    • Share upcoming plans to reduce conflicts and identify collaboration opportunities
    • Strengthen long-term relationships with aligned healthcare organizations
  • Assist with onboarding and supporting communications volunteers
  • Act as a backup point of contact when the Communications Director is unavailable

Webmaster & Digital Platforms Lead

Role Overview
The Webmaster & Digital Platforms Lead helps maintain and improve NCHE’s digital presence by ensuring the website and related platforms are accurate, current, and reflective of the chapter’s brand and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the NCHE website (events, leadership, resources, announcements)
  • Ensure digital content is clear, well-organized, and consistent with NCHE’s voice and visual identity
  • Support posting and updating event information and registration links
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability and member experience
  • Coordinate with the Communications Director on content updates and priorities

Time Commitment
Light but consistent (1–3 hours per month, with spikes around major events)

Event & Campaign Communications Coordinator

  • Draft LinkedIn posts and promotional messaging for events and campaigns
  • Support email announcements and reminders tied to chapter programming
  • Ensure consistent messaging across website, social media, and email
  • Coordinate with partner organizations to cross-promote relevant events and initiatives

Time Commitment
Moderate and event-driven (2–4 hours per month, with increased activity around major programs)

Member Stories & Engagement Correspondent

Focus: Storytelling, member experience, and chapter connection

Role Overview
The Member Stories & Engagement Correspondent brings a journalistic and human-centered lens to NCHE communications by capturing member experiences, highlighting engagement opportunities, and surfacing insights that help strengthen the chapter community.

This role focuses on listening, storytelling, and connection — helping NCHE understand and reflect what members value most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and short videos at NCHE events for marketing and social use
  • Conduct brief, informal interviews with attendees (e.g., why they joined NCHE, what brought them to an event, how NCHE has supported their professional growth)
  • Highlight member milestones such as promotions, certifications, or career transitions
  • Share opportunities with members, including volunteer needs, committee openings, and professional development opportunities
  • Collect informal feedback and ideas from members to inform future programming and engagement
  • Provide insights and story leads to the Communications Director and Deputy Director to support broader communications and planning efforts
