Meet the NCHE Leadership TeamMission: The Volunteer/Community Service Committee (VCSC) strengthens the community by organizing impactful service events, while also supporting ACHE Fellow candidates in fulfilling their "Give Back" requirements. These events benefit a variety of meaningful causes, from supporting local nonprofit organizations to collaborating on strategic initiatives.
Committee Objectives:
- Organize and execute at least (2) community service events annually.
- Facilitate member participation in volunteer activities.
- Partner with at least (2) community organizations annually.
- Increase awareness of community needs among ACHE members.
- Provide opportunities for ACHE Fellow candidates to earn service hours.
Committee Responsibilities:
VCSC members support the Committee Chair in all aspects of planning, developing, and executing community service events. Responsibilities include:
- Developing an annual calendar of "Give Back" events, including proposed dates, locations, and partner organizations.
- Collaborating with other professional organizations to create mutually beneficial partnerships and expand community reach.
- Dedicating the necessary time and effort to fulfill committee obligations and meet deadlines.
- Researching potential partner organizations, including needs assessments, and ensuring compliance with any contractual obligations.
- Recruiting, confirming, and coordinating faculty/speaker participation in programs, as needed.
- Developing effective marketing and promotional materials for events through various channels (e.g., email, social media, website).
- Providing quarterly updates on committee activities and accomplishments to the newsletter editor.
Meeting Requirements:
- Attend quarterly meetings (in-person or virtual) convened by the Chair. Meeting dates and times will be determined and communicated in advance.
- Actively participate in all meetings, contributing ideas and providing updates on assigned tasks.
- Assist in the planning and execution of at least (1) program annually.
Support:
Committee members will receive support and guidance from the Committee Chair, fellow committee members, and access to relevant ACHE resources.
Eligibility Criteria:
- ACHE member in good standing.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A strong commitment to community service and a willingness to actively contribute to the Committee's projects and deliverables.
Term of Service: 1 year
